Silver ore cab ~
Here is an unusual cabochon of silver-bearing ore, cut from a silver vein at the 5400 foot level of Idaho's reknown Sunshine mine. This stone is very heavy for its size, due to the high metal content, comprised of silver, gold, copper, antimony, lead and zinc, with but small traces of quartz. It gleams! Though I had a tough time capturing that in the photos; it closely resembles Oregon's pulsite, if you ask me. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6.5mm, a powerful designer 'shield' shape, and a super reflective polish both front and back.
