Silver in cobaltite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of native silver in cobaltite, from the Cobalt, Ontario, Canada mine. This is a collectibly rare material you definitely don't see everyday, one that's very difficult to find and expensive when you do. It has a high precious silver content, and certainly looks the part, being surprisingly heavy for its size. The cab took an unbelievably shiny polish, and although the surface may appear bumpy in the photos, it is completely smooth. Very reflective and brilliant, almost like chrome! I think this one's much more beautiful in hand. Surely you'll find a special use for such a unique cab. It has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a designer shape that should be a lot of fun to work with, and a slick reflective polish both front and back.
