Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a superb cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, and it is a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millennia, the cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with agate, in various shades of pink, red, gray and white, and each is framed with a lattice-like network of webbing in jet black. Those are the actual cell walls, quite distinct and apparent. The cab has a very high and well rounded dome, a sleek designer 'flame' shape, and a super smooth glassy polish both front and back.
