Bruneau jasper cab ~
Here is a top notch cabochon of Bruneau Canyon jasper, from Idaho. It features an attractive pattern of full orbs, one in front of the other, in shades of creamy peach, against a burnt orange body. There's a touch of translucency present too. Sadly, the best of this hard porcelain-like jasper is becoming alarmingly scarce and spendy these days. It takes an outrageously glassy polish, and when it's nicely patterned like this cab is, it is very sought after by collectors and designers alike. The stone has a high rounded dome, a gracefully curved chevron shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
