Description
~ Tiffany stone cab ~

Here is a cabochon of opalite, from the Brush-Wellman beryllium mine in Utah. Sometimes known as bertrandite, Tiffany stone, ice cream opal, and 'Purple Passion', no matter what you call it, it's certainly gorgeous stuff! I'm told this rare opal gets its beautiful coloration from fluorite. This more creamy white example has but a few splashes of purple, with a nice blush of peachy orange, along with jet black dendrites. It has a very high rounded dome, a gracefully curving shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.

Size: 49x15mm
Weight: approximately 31 carats

Price: $SOLD
