Malawi blue agate cab ~
Offered here is a designer cabochon of Malawi blue agate, also known as blue chalcedony, from Africa. It features lovely translucent bluish-purple coloration with some subtle bandings, as well as some interesting puffy dots down the sides. At the center is an interesting fortified swirl; on the backside, it frames a tiny druzy pocket, illustrated by the last photo. The highly polished shape causes light to bounce around wonderfully in this stone, and at certain angles, it does appear to have some nice adularescence. It's almost opalescent, and certainly very gemmy! Like a lot of blue agates, this stone is also moody, appearing deeper in color when viewed in low lighting. This good sized cab has high rounded dome, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
