Description
~ Native copper cab ~

Offered here is a thoroughly unique cabochon of native copper, hailing from Arizona, I believe. I haven't been able to identify the white host rock, but there's no mistaking the bright, shiny metal running through it for anything but copper. No doubt about that, and it does look to be quite pure. There are also some bright red spots of cuprite near the tip. Sorry I wasn't able to illustrate the shiny metallic nature of the coppery areas very well, but it's a beauty, looking an awful lot like tiny plumes. For some reason, the backside was a bit easier to capture; please click it up to full size. The cab has a high rounded dome, a sleek symmetrical shape, and is very smooth and highly polished both front and back.

Size: 43x17mm
Weight: approximately 38 carats
