Description
~ Native silver in cobaltite cab ~

Offered here is a cabochon of dendritic native silver with cobaltite, from the Cobalt, Ontario, Canada mine. This is a very rare, collectible material, quite unusual and unique, with a high precious silver content. It certainly looks the part, being surprisingly heavy for its size. The ornate dendrites are larger than usual, reminding me of frilly ferns or snowflakes, but they were mighty tough to photograph because they gleam so brightly. Much like chrome! The surface may appear rough in the pics, but rest assured, it is quite smooth, and much more beautiful and intriguing in hand. The dendrites show best in the backside photo, so please be sure to enlarge it to view the great details. This particular gem is from my own personal collection, and it's the nicest dendritic silver stone I have ever offered. When what little I have left is gone, it will be next to impossible to replace, so if you've had your eye on one of these beauties, GRAB IT! This stone has a generously high rounded dome of 7mm, a crisp designer shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.

Size: 37x26mm
Weight: approximately 84 carats
