Horse Canyon agate~
Here is a designer cabochon of Horse Canyon agate, from California. This type of moss agate is arguably some of the prettiest and rarest there is. Or was... The area where it comes from is all private and closed, so there's been no collecting for quite some time now. This cab features a pleasing pattern of moss and strings in shades of rosy pink and apricot, in a highly translucent agate base. It's made all the more interesting by some nice clouds and flecks of white, though the smaller photos don't do it much justice. Click them up to full size to appreciate this one. The stone has a rounded dome, a curvy shield shape, and a nice glassy polish both front and back.
