Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of Utah's fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. The cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with mostly clear agate, but in some areas it's a lovely reddish orange. Check out the enlarged photo to see the extraordinary details. You'll see that the cell walls form a sponge-like lattice, giving this stone a fantastic degree of depth. It's an amazing example of collectibly gemmy dinosaur bone! The cab has a generously high rounded dome of 7mm, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
