Malawi blue agate cab ~
Offered here is a large deluxe cabochon of Malawi blue agate, also known as blue chalcedony, from Africa. It features lovely translucent bluish-purple coloration, along with a ghostly chevron of subtle bandings. The bands are very 3D, waving and curling like ribbons inside the stone, and outwards of those are some teensy puffy clouds running in rivers down the sides. The highly polished shape causes light to bounce around wonderfully in this stone, and at certain angles, it does appear to have some adularescence. It's almost opalescent, and certainly very gemmy! Like a lot of blue agates, this stone is also moody, and appears deeper in color when viewed in low lighting. It has generously high rounded dome of nearly 9mm, a crisp designer shape, and a brilliant glassy polish both front and back.
