Bruneau jasper cab ~
Offered here is an artful cabochon of Bruneau Canyon jasper, from Idaho. It features an outstanding full on pattern of eggs, one in front of the other, in pastel shades of creamy orange chiffon, against a body of deep brownish orange. There's just a touch of translucency present too, typical of the best of this fine porcelain jasper. The face has no cracks or pits; any odd lines are well healed and completely stable. Bruneau jasper takes a terrific polish, and when it's nicely patterned like this cab is, it is much sought after by collectors and designers alike. Sadly, next to nothing is being dug down there in the canyon's depths, so this awesome jasper's become alarmingly scarce and spendy now. The stone has a very high rounded dome of 6.5mm, a fancy designer shape, perfectly polished both front and back.
