Tietea petrified wood cab ~
Offered here is an interesting cabochon cut from collectible Tietea wood, a species of tree fern found in Brazil's Araguaina petrified forest. This ancient petrified wood is amazingly colorful, probably a lot moreso now than when it was alive some 250 million years ago. There are lovely patches of dark rose & mauve, with ivory, gray & golden tan, and plenty between. The assorted windblown eyes are actually vascular structures of the once-living plant, which, along with other minute details, are faithfully preserved in the stone. Fascinatingly beautiful! The cab has a low but rounded dome of 5.5mm, and a bold designer shape that's polished both front and back. *Note: There are a couple tiny voids present, and a few more on the backside, part of the charm of this amazing fossil wood.
Size: 64x24mm
Weight: approximately 54 carats
