Pietersite cab ~
Offered here is a terrific cabochon of African pietersite. The remarkable example features golden yellow and light to midnight blue chatoyance in a silky, swirling, folded pattern that dances with the light. Nice red and orange accents too, in and amongst the brecciated figure. A sharp eye will discern how the chatoyance changes radically with each turn of this stone; please be sure to click the pics to enlarge them to full size to view the details. This stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5+mm, a graceful designer 'flame' shape, and a glassy polish both front and back. And considering how the cost of fine pietersite has sky-rocketed in recent years, my per carat price for a stone of this size and quality is a genuine bargain!
