Bruneau jasper cab ~
Offered here is an interesting cabochon of Bruneau jasper, from Bruneau Canyon, Idaho. It features an intriguing pattern of half orbs, somewhat resembling braids, in rich shades of creamy buckskin. The orbs contrast nicely against a burnt orange background. Sadly, the best of this hard porcelain-like jasper is becoming rather scarce and spendy these days, yet Bruneau jasper remains a classic favorite, and I love the stuff! It takes an outrageously glassy polish, and when it's nicely patterned like this cab is, it is sought after by collectors and designers alike. The stone has a well rounded dome, a geometric designer shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
