Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is a large cabochon of ocean jasper, from Madagascar. This example has a decidedly festive pattern, with an array of pastel peach and pink bullseyes and orbs in a variety of sizes. A snow-speckled band runs across the stone, beneath a sparkly pool of forest green, the former being suprisingly translucent, as illustrated by the backlit photo. There are a couple hairlines present, as is fairly typical of ocean jasper, but I doubt you'll find that overly distracting. The stone has a high rounded dome of nearly 8mm, a plump teardrop shape, and a slick, glassy polish both front and back.
