Birdseye rhyolite cab ~
Offered here is a deluxe cabochon of orbicular rhyolite, from Nevada. This rare old material has gone by several names over the years, including birdseye rhyolite, but no matter what you prefer to call it, I really like the stuff! This example has a fascinating array of orbs and bullseyes in various of sizes, and an unusual crackly white and dark charcoal with a hint of slate-blue coloration, attractively arranged in a festive sort of way. It ought to make a most desireable item of jewelry. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, a sweet designer drop shape, polished to a high gloss both front and back.
