Agua Nueva agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon cut from Agua Nueva agate, from Mexico. I find these agates are every bit as beautiful as their famous cousin, laguna agate, mined nearby. This stone features a delightful banded pattern in pastel shades of lavender to purple, with several eyes. The eyes are actually tubes seen in cross-section. There is an open crystal vug in the lower third of the stone, and a cap of sparkly quartz crystals across the top, adding much to its character and appeal. Nicely translucent, as seen in the backlit photo. Dream up something extra special for this one! The cab has a rounded dome of 5mm, and a glassy polish both front and back.
