Mtorolite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of mtorolite, which hails from Zimbabwe. Mtorolite is usually a lot like chrysoprase, which is a green chalcedony colored by the presence of nickel. This material gets its color instead from chromium, hence its other moniker, chrome chalcedony. This extra gemmy example might easily be mistaken for jade, and features gorgeous translucent green coloration, with some interesting color zoning. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a bold designer shape, and a slick, glassy polish both front and back.
