Offered here is a cabochon of classic poppy jasper, from the famous Morgan Hill, CA. location, no longer open to collecting. This eye-catching example features an attractive pattern of contrasting bullseye figures in muted yellow, and bright crimson, in a partially transulcent background that is a mix of gray quartz and agate. Happily, it has next to none of the typical hairlines common to this collectible material, but each is well healed and fine, so the stone is quite solid and ready for your best creative efforts. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5+mm, and a crisp designer 'flame' shape, polished both front and back.
