Rainforest jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cab of rainforest 'jasper', from Australia. This cabochon features an attractive pattern in light and dark avocado green shades, with several miniature thundereggs embedded within. The material is actually highly silicated rhyolite, with some interesting opalite-filled cores in pastel yellow and gold. This type reminds me a bit of Madagascar's ocean jasper. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, an elegant designer 'diamond' shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
