Description
~ Royal imperial jasper cab ~

Offered here is an extraordinary collector's cabochon of royal imperial jasper, fantastic old stock Mexican material the like of which hasn't been found in many years. If any does turn up in the marketplace, it typically commands quite a steep price. This orby example features a fantastically wild pattern of rings in peachy pinks, dark teal, mauve and more. The central rings from the heart of the nodule bear an uncanny resemblance to woodgrain. Now, mind you, this stone isn't absolutely perfect; it does have a small pinpoint void on the backside near the edge, and another larger well-polished divot in the heart of the woodgrain, also on the backside. But those few thin lines visible within the pattern are not flaws. They're razor-fine veins of what appear to be quartz. No doubt you'll be delighted and inspired when this one arrives! It has a well rounded dome of 5mm, and a plump designer 'teardrop' shape that enhances the jasper's unique pattern beautifully, brought to a brilliant polish both front and back.

Size: 55x30mm
Weight: approximately 71 carats
