Cherry Creek jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of cherry creek jasper, which hails from China. I'm told only a relatively small quantity was brought to the U.S., so I feel lucky to have snagged a few of the very prettiest slabs available. I've only cut a few cabs from this material, and it looks like a winner to me. The background is a warm golden mango color, with webbing in maroon, brown and yellow, highlighted in blue-green. Beautifully busy. It certainly cuts artistic cabs, very striking in many ways, and I think this one will make an outstanding item of jewelry. The stone has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a designer 'flame' shape, and a glossy polish both front and back.
