Offered here is a cabochon of flashy Chinese pietersite. This stone has a brecciated appearance, with each 'piece' showing its own direction of chatoyance. The color is predominately golden yellow, highlighted with brilliant gold, along with splashes of deep coppery red. Oddly enough, there are a few sub-metallic silvery threads in this stone. It has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a rounded designer 'lozenge' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back. And for a stone of this quality, a price of under a buck a carat is a genuine bargain!
