Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of butterfly wing jasper, from Mexico. This long time favorite brecciated jasper (actually a rhyolite) is a much sought after classic, and a favorite in my studio. This example was cut from grand old material, very colorful, including pink, slate blue, burnt orange, maroon, pink, gold and yellow. There is a network of odd pale blue lines, but they are either totally and naturally healed or simply part of the pattern, so this one's ready to take part in your next masterpiece. The cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a versatile 'jellybean' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
