Lazulite in quartzite cab suite ~
Offered here is a extraordinary trio of matching cabochons cut from rare lazulite in quartzite, premium lapidary material from Georgia's renown Graves Mountain area. These examples have plenty of deep blue lazulite crystals, some of which show their typical dipyramidal form. The grayish quartzite base has a nice degree of translucence, and contains a multitude of silvery pyrite flecks that sparkle like fine glitter, though my camera captured only a hint of them. If you like featuring the truly unusual in your creations, you're going to love these stones! The matching pair are 5.5mm in thickness, while the large cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, and a graceful designer 'teardrop' shape. Each of the three stones has a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
