Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a sweet cabochon of butterfly wing jasper (actually a rhyolite), from Mexico. This long time favorite brecciated 'jasper' is a much sought after classic, and a favorite in my studio. This example was cut from grand old material, full of colorfully varied figure, in shades of pink, burnt orange, blue and canary yellow. Any odd lines are either totally and naturally healed or simply part of the pattern, so you just can't go wrong with this beauty; it definitely won't disappoint! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 7mm, a graceful designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
