Royal imperial jasper cab ~
Offered here is a splendidly unique cabochon of royal imperial jasper, from Mexico. This collectible 'ojitos' (little eyes) material is the very best of the best, and thankfully, I lucked into a huge old horde of outstanding rough nodules so I can continue to share them with you. Let's hope at least some are as nice as this one, cut from the very last slice of a ridiculously gorgeous BLUE nodge. The pattern in this remarkable stone is composed of orbs stacked one atop the next, subtly radiating outward like ripples on a pond. It is a study in teal blue, from strongly saturated blues to pastel shades, plus a dab of golden-green at the large end. There's a band of light and dark avocado green edging around some of the perimeter, too. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a long designer teardrop shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
