Covellite cab ~
Offered here is cabochon of covellite, a rare heavyweight metallic ore of copper from the Leonard mine near Butte, Montana. This super reflective stone features deep, rich cobalt blue coloration, with swaths of white quartz and flecks of shiny metallic pyrite. The quartz is actually edged with pyrite, including some intriguing cubic outlines (resembling the pyrite crystal habit), for extra added character. This one ought to make some knockout item of jewelry, no doubt, or a soon-to-be favorite in your collection of rarities. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, an elongated designer 'amond' shape, and a great gleaming polish both front and back.
