Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a superb collector's cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, and it is a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. The LARGE cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with bluish purple agate, and each is framed with a lattice-like network of webbing in cream and tan. Those are the actual cell walls, and they're quite distinct here. Like tiny embedded thundereggs, some of the cells are fortified with subtle bands, complete with sparkly cores. This is an example of some of the most remarkable gem bone I've ever offered, straight from my own personal stash. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, and a fancy designer 'flame' shape, polished both front and back.
