Petrified palm root cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of rare petrified palm wood, from Texas. This ancient fossil material is a joy to work with, showing none of the typical pits and chalky soft spots this petrified wood so often has. The speckled figure of the once-living palm is still apparent here, but what really catches the eye is the wood's unusual colors, patterning, and the strong contrast between them. It's not often you find such good quality pet. palm showing gemmy translucence, eyes, tubes, and shades of cream, gray, tan and jet black all in the same piece, so I took extra care to shape the cab to make the most of everything it had to offer. No pet wood collection is complete without an example of palm wood, and this one is will do ya proud. The cab has a gracefully curved designer shape, a well rounded dome of 6mm, and it is perfectly polished both front and back.
