Chrysocolla malachite cab ~
Offered here is a large, vivid cabochon of chrysocolla and malachite, from Arizona. This fabulous old material is 100 percent natural, a delight to work with, and more sought after than ever. It features bright turquoise blues to blue-greens, interspersed with malachite that shows hints of shimmery chatoyance. There's a banded pattern present, and by the look of it, shows some brecciation and natural re-formation. The cerulean blue color looks particularly rich in a gold setting, but I'll leave that to your capable imagination. The stone has a high rounded dome of 8mm, a sweet designer shape, and despite a *very* slight bit of texture on the surface, it took a surprisingly nice glossy polish front and back.
