Carnelian agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Oregon carnelian agate. This example has juicy translucent reddish orange coloration, with a few of the 'cornflake' inclusions so sought after by collectors. I tried my best to capture the beautiful 'flakes inside this stone, but saturated color tends to wash out such details. The stone is beautifully translucent, as illustrated by the backlit photo. Carnelian with this rich coloration is none too easy to come by, as most have color only on the outside of the rough pieces, in a thin layer of rind. Not this one, it's natural, vibrant hues are through and through. The cab has a rounded dome of 5.5mm, a versatile designer shape, and an excellent glassy polish both front and back.
