Bruneau jasper cab ~
Offered here is an artful cabochon of Bruneau Canyon jasper, from Idaho. It features an pleasing pattern of eggs, stacked one atop the other, in pastel shades of creamy orange chiffon, against a body of burnt orange. There's just a touch of translucency present too, typical of the best of this fine porcelain jasper. Bruneau jasper takes a terrific polish, and when it's nicely patterned like this cab is, it is much sought after by collectors and designers alike. Sadly, next to nothing is being dug down there in the canyon's depths, so this awesome jasper's become alarmingly scarce and spendy now. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a fun designer shape, perfectly polished both front and back.
