Description
~ Royal imperial jasper cab ~

Offered here is a distinguished cabochon of royal imperial jasper, from Mexico. This collectible 'ojitos' material is simply wonderful stuff, another member of the fine grained porcelain jasper family I love so much. (Ojitos means little eyes in Spanish.) This fascinating example features an orbicular pattern that leaves me wondering just exactly how this jasper was formed. The orbs seem to descend down the neck of the stone, one in front of the other,in an earthy combination of blended pastels of pink, brown, cream and gray. There's even some pale slate blue in the rings around the edge, as well as a secondary pattern of subtle 'curtains'. The unique figure fits the shape of the stone quite well, and the backside is also beautiful. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a curvy designer 'flame' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.

Size: 60x20mm
Weight: approximately 52 carats
