K2 blue jasper cab ~
Offered here is an extraordinary cabochon cut from K2 blue jasper, from Pakistan. This rather exotic new gem material is so named because it was mined at the base of the highest peak in that part of the country, K2, second in height only to Mt. Everest. This example has an attractive showing of large blue spots that contrast beautifully against a white granitic background. There's an odd little reddish dot too. If you like featuring the truly unusual in your creations, you're going to love this stone! It has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a triangular designer 'shield' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
