Parrot wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of old stock parrot wing jasper, from Mexico. This delightful jasperized chrysocolla is becoming very difficult to find, and spendy too. This unique beauty has vivid lime greens, with a few blushes of turquoise blue and flecks of deeper green and charcoal. The striking greens very much remind me of gaspeite. I really enjoy cabbing this classic material for use in my own jewelry; it's beautiful, very solid, and there's seldom any difficulty achieving a slick, glassy shine. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, and a curved designer wedge shape that's polished both front and back.
