Priday plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a fascinating cabochon of Priday plume and moss agate, from the Priday Ranch digs in Oregon. I've had several boxes of old nodules stashed away for many years, and only got around to sawing into some of them this past fall. And what great FUN it's been to be the first to see inside!! According to the label, this example came from the old Windmill bed where great plumes were dug decades ago, and indeed, this stone shows just the tips of several different colored plumes. It also has water level lines, a crystalline pool, carnelian red accents, and a lining of blue-gray and maroon moss. The surrounding matrix is also attractive, with burnt orange and avocado coloration. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a designer drop shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
