Chopstick agate cab ~
Offered here is a fascinating cabochon of chopstick agate, from China. It's a prime example of a lattice agate, so called because of the ornate stick-like pattern, which resembles frost. This cab has a multitude of snow white sticks against a soft light grey background. Between them are a few subtle fortifications, including some that show sparkly quartz cores beneath the surface. The agate is at nicely translucent, adding a pleasing dimension of depth. I think it's quite a bit prettier in hand than theses flat photos show. This new agate ought to make excellent jewelry, and hope you'll be encouraged to find out. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a bold designer shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
