Royal imperial jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Imperial jasper, from Mexico. This collectible 'ojitos' material is simply wonderful stuff, another member of the fine grained porcelain jasper family I love so much. (Ojitos means little eyes in Spanish.) This example features two different patterns: A soothingly soft orby pattern in pleasing shades of sky blue, avocado and cream, overlaid by another of streaky lines. The backside has the beautiful patterns too, so an open back setting would be just the thing. The cab has a rounded dome of 6mm, a versatile designer shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
