Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of butterfly wing jasper, from Mexico. This long time favorite brecciated jasper (actually a rhyolite) is a much sought after classic, and a favorite in my studio. This example was cut from grand old material, and has an impressive palette, including pastels of slate blue, orange, magenta, pink, peach, and green. There's also a jagged pool of smoky purple agate that's nicely translucent, adding depth. Any odd white lines are either totally and naturally healed or simply part of the pattern, so this one's ready to take part in your next masterpiece. The cab has a rounded dome 5mm, a versatile 'almond' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
