Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of butterfly wing jasper, from Mexico. This long time favorite brecciated jasper (actually a rhyolite) is a much sought after classic, and a favorite in my studio. This example was cut from grand old material, the colors of which include slate blue, burnt orange, magenta, pink, and yellow, with maroon webbing here and there. Any odd lines are either totally and naturally healed or simply part of the pattern, so this one's ready to take part in your next masterpiece. The cab has a rounded dome of 5mm, a gracefully curved teardrop shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
