Rim jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of rim jasper (or bat cave jasper), from Oregon. We've been having a ton of fun with this old time material, which formed in stacked layers, said to be composed of ancient bat guano that accumulated over countless years. You can see the many layers as ringed bands in varying shades of chocolate brown on buckskin, reminiscent of the colors found in jasper from Bruneau Canyon. The stone has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a crisp designer shape, and a slick, glassy polish both front and back.
