Morgan Hill poppy jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of poppy jasper, from the famous Morgan Hill, CA. location, no longer open to collecting. This example features an interesting pattern of orbs and rings in crimson against a background of muted yellow, and brownish brick red. It does have a couple of the typical hairlines common to this collectible material, but each is well healed and fine, so the stone is quite solid. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5.5mm, and a crisp designer 'spear' shape, polished both front and back.
