Opal Butte cab ~
Offered here is a gorgeous collector's cabochon of pink opal from Oregon's Opal Butte. This outrageously gemmy example was cut from material of the highest quality, selected for its vivid hues and soundness. And if you're among those who are familiar with this variety of thunderegg opal, you already know that this cab is quite impressively large as well as vibrant. Even though this remarkable opal has no fiery play of color, it more than makes up for that with exceptionally brilliant HOT PINK and candy apple red/orange coloration, making it anything BUT common. I think it's even nicer than these digital pics reveal, despite a few small inclusions, because the opalescent colors shift, change, and blend in person. Anyone would be proud to own this one! It has a gracefully curved designer shape, and a very high rounded dome of 5+mm, polished to a slick glassy perfection both front and back.
