Tiger jasper cab ~
Offered here is a lovely cab of old stock tiger jasper from Mexico, something seldom seen these days. This one was cut from some of the best I have. It features an interesting pattern of poppy-like dots in burnt orange, with seemingly black splashes that are actually dark silvery hematite. The metallic patches really set it off, with a moire pattern of their own adding a striking contrast, but it was tough to capture that in the photos. I love this stuff, and think it's certainly very aptly named. The cab has a low but well rounded dome, a crisp designer shape. And, because it's as hard as many fine porcelain jaspers, this cab has a great glassy polish both front and back.
