Larimar cab ~
Offered here is a deluxe cabochon of larimar, a rare blue variety of gem pectolite from the only known source, the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean. I wish I had purchased a LOT more rough when I had the chance, because the price has certainly climbed steadily over the years. This example has delicious sky blue coloration, extra gemmy, with some darker and more saturated spots, including hints of silky chatoyance. Oddly, I discovered a few teensy silver metallic flecks in this one, which appear as dark peppery spots in the photos. This stone has a generously high rounded dome of nearly 7mm, a versatile designer 'flame' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
