Fossil coral cab ~
Offered here is an extraordinarily NICE cabochon of ancient fossilized coral, from Indonesia. This fascinating material is some of the finest I've ever seen, especially well silicated, with a bit of translucence. It has striking patterns, plenty of contrast, and strong coloration. It is composed of the highly silicated fossil remains of colonial sea coral, many millions of years old! There's an extra showy display of ornate 'flowers' that remind me of orange slices floating in a punchbowl. One snow white flower serves as a lovely accent to draw the eye, along with the white frosting on a couple other flowers. This coral took a fabulous shine, and there are no pits that I can find. The cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a gracefully curved designer drop shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
