Amethyst cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of unusual chevron amethyst, from Brazil. (Not the low quality type from Mexico.) This gemmy material intrigues me not only with its excellent deep purple coloration, but because you can clearly see the individual crystals that compose the banded layers, along with the attractive look of the many healed inclusions. The cab has a low but rounded dome of 5mm, a curvy designer shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
