Rim jasper cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of rim jasper (or bat cave jasper), from Oregon. This old time material formed in stacked layers, making it great for cameo-type relief carvings. That's why I wanted it, but thought I'd also have some fun with a cab or two. You can see the layers as ringed bands in shades of buckskin on brown, reminiscent of Bruneau jasper's colors. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, an elegant designer shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
